If an older parent’s kid is an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or a qualified citizen of New Zealand, they may be able to live in Australia under the contributing aged parent visa (subclass 884 and 864).
The contributing aged parent 884 visa is a two-year temporary visa that enables the holders to reside in Australia. It is not possible to renew or extend this visa. Before the temporary 884 visa expires, the parents can apply for the permanent Contributory Aged Parent 864 visa if they wish to remain in Australia permanently.
